Basic Excel Invoice Template

Below will be two files both from google docs. 
One of them will be converted to google docs spreadsheet format for those who do not have excel. 
The other will be in the normal excel format, therefore you can download it from google docs and work on excel.

This free excel invoice template consist of 3 worksheets:
  • Invoice
  • Item
  • Customer
The item and customer worksheets are just raw data.  That means you would not need to use it unless you need to enter a new item or a new customer information.

Now go to the item worksheet on the file you downloaded.  You would enter all your item information on this worksheet.  Right now I have put some examples down so you can see how it works. 




Now click on the customer worksheet.  You will enter your customer information on this sheet.  Right now I have put some examples down so you can see how it works.


Ok now go to the Invoice worksheet, you will see how this free automated invoice works.

Now you should be on your invoice worksheet.  There is a drop down list when you click on cell G11.  The customers that I had listed on column A on the customer worksheet is all listed in the drop down list.   Choose customer 3 for this example, you will see that the address, city, state, zipcode and telephone for customer 3. 



Now type item 1 on cell A18.  You will now see the description and unit price for item 1.  Now all you have to type is the qty and your all done!
 
 


 The Vlookup formula was used to look for the customer and item information.
 I used data validation to make the drop down list.
I used a name range to name the specific range on the spreadsheets to make vlookup formula easier.
